At 9.30 pm on stage in Piazza Vittoria the Menamenamò group, directed by Luigi Mengoli, has long been engaged in ethnomusical research that resulted in the collection, and subsequent publication, of over 400 popular songs from Salento. Guardian of a complex cultural experience, which is able, year after year, to enrich itself with new initiatives, it represents a testimony of the extraordinary creativity of popular culture. Among their record series "Salento, the great Salento music" and "Voices and characters of Salento music" started together with the Amaltea publishing house, "Il Sale del Salento / Unipop", with unpublished photographic and textual documents, to testify the sense of a cultural commitment that after so many years is by no means concluded, but is evolving, aspiring to become an important laboratory for the recovery, processing and development of the collective memory of Salento. The group is made up of: Luigi Mengoli, lead vocal and guitar; Rocco Rizzello, vocals; Francesco Rizzello, vocals; Pascal Coppola, clarinet; Roberto Casciaro, euphonium; Daniele De Pascali, flute; Roberto Mengoli, percussion and tambourine.

To follow, to animate the square, the music of Anakrousis Canti e Suoni along the route of the Greeks, is a project by Ambrogio Sparagna with the soloists of the Popular Italian Orchestra of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, and the voices of the children and of the girls of the polyphonic ensemble Orchestra Sparagnina of Corigliano d'Otranto and the warm and splendid voice of Theodoro Melissinopoulos with his repertoire of lyric songs and Hellenic ballads. The project tells the link between the two shores of the Ionian and the Adriatic, the seas that separate but which have always united the peoples that overlook them. Songs and sounds in Greek and in Grica to highlight the link, including sound, between Greece and Salento Greece, but there is no lack of references to the musical traditions of other areas of southern Italy that have developed strong and lasting with ancient Greece. bonds still present in the language, in the music, in the cultural horizon.
