As of Friday, May 5, "La Festa Patronale" is on the radio and available digitally, the new single from Salento's Après La Classe, who give the public a festive comeback with the collaboration of the Popular Orchestra Notte della Taranta.

An exciting fresco of the Patronal Feast that from the first listen takes us to the stage of the popular ritual among processions colored by rose petals, illuminations, shanties, merry-go-rounds and the band playing. The protagonist is the fatalistic patron saint linked to daily life, to a secular environment animated by collective passion, in the continuous exchange between sacred and profane.

The Salento band, in collaboration with the Notte della Taranta Foundation, returns to an active cultural intervention with a text that makes the inner treasure of every community more accessible: the patronal feast. A hymn to the beauty of waiting, to that magical moment that separates us from the day of the feast, when all "our people are waiting for it."

The unreleased song is a ballad full of surprising snapshots and intimate awe, with an ethno-pop sound that tells in an almost autobiographical way about a man who, by mirroring himself in the lights of the feast, wants to celebrate the value of depth and imagination of the past in order not to get lost in the demonic contemporary perception of himself.

The song pays homage to all the Patronal Feasts. It opens with the announcement, sung by Antonio Amato accompanied by Valerio Combass Bruno's bass, of the day of the Feast. It is the voices of Francesco Arcuti and Marco Perrone that take us into the colorful atmosphere of the town celebrating its patron saint. Alessandra Caiulo, Consuelo Alfieri and Giancarlo Paglialunga complete the fresco of cheerful sounds between the tambourines of Roberto Chiga and Gioele Nuzzo, the violin of Giuseppe Astore and the unmistakable sound of Gianluca Longo's mandola.

The cover is signed by Max Brunetti whose artistic vision gives body and life to the saint who becomes, with the use of artificial intelligence, Antonio the friend and confidant, imperfect and fallible.

"Après La Classe, with "La festa patronale," points out Federico Capone a member of the scientific committee of the La Notte della Taranta Foundation, offer a lively fresco of what is the feast in honor of the patron saint of every town, whether large or small, in southern Italy; that they know the dynamics of the feast is clear from the opening verses, in which they describe the accompaniment of the statue of the saint, with the clergy at the head followed by representatives of the institutions and local notables, band and confraternity. And the faithful who, in religious silence, march on, creating an orderly line escorted by wings of the crowd. The patronal feast is a "great feast," brought to life by so many other figures, sometimes in opposition to each other, from the grandmother who prays from the balcony throwing rose petals, to the children dressed in white, to those engaged in more secular and venal tasks, preparing the market.

The beauty of this piece, and the bravura of Après La Classe, lies in showing the thousands of colors of the illuminations, in making the smells of coffee and copeta.

And then the battery of fires: the carousels light up, the trumpets blare. La festa patronale begins."
