The tour of the traveling festival "La Notte della Taranta" continues, stopping in Castrignano De' Greci on August 19. Now in its 25th edition dedicated to the theme "The tradition of the new," Italy's largest traveling festival crosses, from Aug. 4 to 25, 21 towns in Salento, with 43 pizzica concerts, more than 400 artists and will lead up to the long night of the Concertone on Aug. 27 in Melpignano (Le), with the maestro concertmaster DARDUST, in the midst of rehearsal activity these days at the Cinema of Calimera together with the Orchestra of the Notte della Taranta. The sound journey between memory and vision of Concertone 2022 will be broadcast on RAI 1, Thursday, Sept. 1 at 11:15 p.m.

At 9 p.m. the evening kicks off with the music of I Calanti, a group of five young musicians and a couple of dancers almost all belonging to the Colitti Family of Ugento, who renew a family musical tradition in which the passion for the culture and folk traditions of Salento is handed down from generation to generation. The group was founded with the intention of preserving and spreading the cultural heritage of the Colitti family and in 2018 celebrated 20' years of activity. Over the years they have released 5 record works including a live CD/DVD. The members of the group are: Daniele Colitti, vocals, tambourine, harmonica, classical rhythm guitar; Mirco Colitti, vocals, tambourine, tammorra, castanets; Michele Costantini, vocals, accordion; Francesco Arnesano, violin; Federico De Pascali, mandola and mandolin; Fabrizio Ricchiello, cupa cupa, tambourine, mute violin, dance; Anna Maria Manni and Emanuela Capone, tambourine and dance.

This will be followed by a performance by the group Alla Bua, on the music scene for 30 years, born from the most traditional experiences of Salento's musical culture. From the patrols of the historic feast of San Rocco in Torrepaduli, to the itinerant nights of singing in Santu Lazzaru, to the typical festivities in the courtyards. Alla Bua, which in Grico means alternative medicine, or other cure, inspires the group's soul and sound. The cure: in the past against the poisonous bite of the legendary taranta, today against the flatness of modern society. A cure to the sound of pizzica-pizzica, a strong, warm and liberating dance. In recent years the repertoire has been enriched with original songs composed by the authors themselves. The members of the group come from various towns in Salento and they all have the common consciousness of feeling the legacy of popular music as their own with the great desire to play it, pass it on and popularize it, but also to evolve it in a totally "spontaneous" and creatively influenced by their various musical roots. The group consists of: Irene Toma, voice and oboe; Gigi Toma, tambourine and voice; Dario Marti, guitar and voice; Fiore Maggiulli, tambourine and voice; Emanuele Massafra, violin; Francesco Coluccia, accordion; Gianni Dell'Anna, sound engineer.

MASSIMO PERICOLO HOST CONCERTONE 25 in the cast with STROMAE and SAMUELE BERSANI

There will be rapper Massimo Pericolo on stage at the Notte della Taranta for the 25th edition of the Concertone scheduled for Aug. 27 in Melpignano, Salento.

Followed by the very young and considered one of the new "Big Thing" of the Italian music scene, Pericolo, who has already collaborated in the past with maestro concertmaster Dardust, brings his bare and forthright writing before the audience of two hundred thousand expected on the square of the former Convento degli Agostiniani. "For me, it is essential to tell what I know: knowledge is experience, it means that in a creative process not only the mind, representation, but the whole sensitive dimension of an individual's existence is involved," says Massimo Pericolo in The Lord of the Woods, his first book released by Rizzoli. A photographic autobiography in which the rapper recounts the difficult period of childhood in the province of Varese, the discovery of literature and the arrival of success.

After collaborations with Fabri Fibra in "Star Wars" (Platinum Record) in 2020 Massimo Pericolo collaborated with many artists from the Italian scene, Mahmood, Achille Lauro, Tedua, Jake La Furia, Emis Killa, Lazza, Madame, Speranza, Chicoria, Tony Effe and Touché. In 2021 with a new single "Bugie" he marks his entry on the Sony Music Italy label and anticipates "Solo Tutto," his second album with collaborations with Salmo, Madame, JLord and Venerus released on March 26 finishing at No. 1 on the FIMI chart of best-selling albums in Italy and certified Platinum Record. On September 9, Massimo Pericolo was honored at the Arena di Verona for the Seat Music Awards with the song "Bugie," taken from his latest album, and the featuring "L'ultima volta," contained within the album by Emis Killa and Jake la Furia. The artist thus confirms himself again with his innate stage presence capturing the attention of the spectators present at the concert and beyond the screen.

With the announcement of international guest STROMAE and Italian singer-songwriter SAMUELE BERSANI, the cast of the Notte della Taranta 25, is enriched by the presence of PERICOLO, highlighting, once again, how the Concertone is a multitude of languages and cultures marked by the rhythm of the pizzica. A choice that stems from reading Pericolo's words from his book, "Imagining that we believe in something keeps us hooked on life. It is when the truth of nothingness resurfaces that you feel that something resembling the feeling of plummeting into the void that is depression. Depression comes when you remember that you are fooling yourself. I decide to hang in there, make a pact with life and slowly begin to realize how much the outcome of an endeavor depends on me, on my perception." [...] "The concert, for example, is a moment of exaltation, of asceticism, if you do it well it amplifies your state of mind of well-being, if you do it badly on the contrary it increases the feeling of discomfort."

After Clementino in 2018, Guè Pequeno 2019 and Madame in 2021, also in 2022 La Notte della Taranta will engage the audience of the very young with Pericolo choosing its lyrics, "In all the little towns of the world I'm in my place and I pray to the lord of the woods. And if you leave, you leave just to feel alive. But you never forget where you were a child."

In the rehearsal room set up in Calimera's Cinema Elio, the Orchestra Popolare continues its musical quest to enchant the Melpignano audience by moving from traditional pizziches to the public's most beloved ballads with an in-depth look at Pier Paolo Pasolini's Canzoniere Italiano and a tribute to Vito Nigro the cantor of Villa Castelli and Cordella's pizzica. Orchestra singers Enza Pagliara, Antonio Amato, Stefania Morciano, Giancarlo Paglialunga, Alessandra Caiulo, Salvatore Galeanda and Consuelo Alfieri are engaged in a journey of harmonizing voices with noted composer and conductor Valeriano Chiaravalle. The texts chosen by Dardust for the 25th edition will also be a dancing journey entrusted to choreographer Irma Di Paola and 16 dancers. The set design, signed by Massimo Calzavara, encapsulates the message of the 2022 edition: tradition embraces contemporary language by introducing futurist visions thanks to the collaboration with Filippo Rossi professional show designer and Mauro Bubbico the anthropologist of Italian design.

Concertone La Notte della Taranta is a cultural project of musical and choreographic research produced by Fondazione La Notte della Taranta with the support of Regione Puglia, Puglia Promozione, Unione dei Comuni della Grecìa salentina, and Istituto Diego Carpitella.

Thanks to a collaboration with Acquedotto Pugliese, the Concertone area will be served by public water distribution. The Festival's mobility is zero-emission thanks to the technical support of DMJ Gruppo De Mariani, which provided the electric cars.

Taranta Solidale project continues, which in 2015 together with Granarolo distributed basic necessities for migrants hosted by the Caritas of Otranto, in 2016 enabled the reconstruction of the Music School in Amatrice destroyed by the earthquake, in 2017 helped Unicef, in 2018 with Intesa Sanpaolo it purchased a platform needed by the Pediatric Oncohematology Department of the Vito Fazzi Hospital in Lecce, in 2019 again with Intesa Sanpaolo and Legambiente it allocated with RigeniAmo la Natura funds for the enhancement of 4 natural oases in southern Italy: Baia di Torre Squillace in Puglia, Dune di Sovereto in Isola Capo Rizzuto, the Oasi dei Variconi in Castelvolturno, and Costa Ionica Foce Cavone in Pisticci.

In 2022 Taranta Solidale in collaboration with the Olivami Association will create the Taranta Park: 1,500 new olive trees in the countryside of Carpignano Salentino to help rebuild the Salento landscape. In the Parco della Taranta that can be visited, all the trees will have the names of the guest artists of Festival and Concertone.

ORCHESTRA POPOLARE LA NOTTE DELLA TARANTA

The tour of the traveling festival "La Notte della Taranta," which stops in Galatina on Aug. 18, continues. Now in its 25th edition dedicated to the theme "The tradition of the new," Italy's largest traveling festival crosses 21 municipalities of Salento from August 4 to 25, with 43 pizzica concerts, more than 400 artists and will lead to the long night of the Concertone on August 27 in Melpignano (Le), with the maestro concertatore DARDUST, in the midst of rehearsal activity these days at the Cinema of Calimera together with the Orchestra of the Notte della Taranta. The evening kicks off at 9 p.m. with "Notes of a Journey," a musical performance by and with Pino Ingrosso, the lead vocalist of Oscar winner Nicola Piovani. It is a musical journey, a light and brilliant tale of a past that still belongs to us; a journey that punctuates, with lightness and a touch of nostalgia, the manners, traditions, customs and traditions of Southern Italy, relived through childhood memories, the stories of the elderly, typical sounds, colors, sounds and scents capable of evoking an ancestral civilization common not only to the South of Italy, but to all the Souths of the world. The music that will embellish the show, is a carousel of Mediterranean sounds. Most of the songs in the show were composed by Pino Ingrosso with the peculiarity of being written in Salento dialect and Italian. Pino Ingrosso (vocals, acoustic guitar and ukulele) will be joined on stage by: Francesco De Siena, keyboards and backing vocals; Dario Cota, accordion and keyboards; Umberto Malagnino, bass guitar; Vito De Lorenzi, drums and drums; Alessandro Chiga, percussion; and Daniela Guercia, reciting voice, backing vocals, percussive colors, tres cubano.

Next, the music continues with the Orchestra Popolare Notte della Taranta is the Salento folk music group that changed the history of pizzica by exporting it to the world. Founded in 2004 within the Melpignano Concertone, it is now the undisputed leader in the world music scene. Tradition and constant innovation, unique and unmistakable sound, the Orchestra is characterized by the multitude of fascinating sound paths born from the collaborations with the likes of Joe Zawinul, Stewart Copeland of the Police, Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music, Salif Keita, LP, Concha Buika, Gregory Porter and again Ludovico Einaudi, Lucio Dalla, Francesco De Gregori, Roberto Vecchioni, Ligabue and with the different musical genres from jazz to rock, from blues to electronic, from classical to rap. In touring abroad, the Popular Orchestra sets the squares of the world ablaze and represents Italian Popular Culture in the most prestigious international contexts from Argentina to Kuwait, from Chile to Saudi Arabia, from the United States to China. In the past year, the Orchestra has been featured at New Year's Eve at Expo Dubai, Peter Gabriel's Womad Chile, and the Mediterranean Games in Oran, Algeria.
Every year the Orchestra, acclaimed by the public and critics, leads the Concertone di Melpignano, which in the last quarter century has fostered the birth of new groups and new festivals related to pizzica by promoting all activities related to the recovery and revival of popular traditions. The set of songs and dances proposed by the Orchestra during 25 years of the Notte della Taranta today represent a speaking archive of excellence. A fundamental archive, a work of research and study of popular culture, which has formed the basis of everything that the groups, born thanks to the work of promoting the Notte della Taranta, can tell the world today. Numerous musicians and singers have been formed within the Orchestra and today they are the protagonists of a personal journey and transformed traditional songs into hits known to the general public such as: Aria Caddhipulina, Santu Paulu, Calinitta, Aremu, Lule Lule, Lu ruciu de lu mare, L'acqua de la funtana, the extraordinary pizziches of Torchiarolo, Aradeo, of Lizzano, Copertino, Cordella, of Stifani, San Vito.

The tour of the traveling festival "La Notte della Taranta" continues, stopping in Zollino on Aug. 17. Now in its 25th edition dedicated to the theme "The tradition of the new," Italy's largest traveling festival crosses 21 municipalities of Salento from Aug. 4 to 25, with 43 pizzica concerts, more than 400 artists and will lead to the long night of the Concertone on Aug.

The evening kicks off at 9 p.m. at the municipal villa with the music of A Sud di Bella Ciao. A great popular fresco, the story of the life and feelings of a people through a repertoire ranging from social and protest songs to love songs and dance, inspired by Dario Fo's Ci ragiono e canto from 1966. The album A sud di Bella Ciao is the natural follow-up to the first Bella Ciao, a successful 2014 project that took the 1964 revival of the historic show around the world. This time, as the title announces, the compass points decisively toward southern Italy, with the rhythms of tammurriata, ballo tondo and pizzica, with the melodies daughters of Mediterranean influences, and with poetry, more lyrical in the love songs and more raw in the songs of revolt. Riccardo Tesi (accordion, musical direction), Elena Ledda (vocals), Lucilla Galeazzi (vocals), Alessio Lega (vocals, guitar), Nando Citarella (vocals, tambourine, beating guitar), Maurizio Geri (vocals, guitar), Gigi Biolcati (percussion, vocals), Claudio Carboni (saxophone) guide the listener on a journey into the past that once again helps to understand and decipher our present. Thirteen songs that trace an ideal path that starts from the center of the Belpaese, crosses the south and arrives in Sardinia. "A Sud di Bella Ciao" just wants to tell a story that combines with magic and legend, where rituality awakens the peasant world, where sensuality is mixed with fatigue.

Next up is Criamu, the group that for more than 20 years has been conveying a message of recovery and respect for folk traditions while remaining wide-eyed about the even technological reality that surrounds us. Their melodic line is traced by the sound of mandolin strings the mandola and bouzucki and an accordion that interlock with a Mediterranean Salento sound ensemble made up of midi synthesizers electric percussion Salento tambureddhru and cupa cupa with a singing of two ancestral voices. Criamu's music keeps intact, powerful, pulsating and catalyzing intensities typical of archaic Salento folk music. Often with contemporary style arrangements well appreciated by a modern 'ear'; at other times in competent respect of ancient rhythms and melodies. The group consists of: DJ Aka Bellezza, programming; Valeria Giagnotti, accordion; Katia Giagnotti, voice and tambureddhru; Mino Cavallino, voice, tambureddhru and guitar.

PIETREVIVE DEL SALENTO

SETTE BOCCHE

e
MASCARIMIRÌ

On August 16, the traveling festival "La Notte della Taranta," makes a stop in Ugento. Now in its 25th edition dedicated to the theme "The tradition of the new," Italy's largest traveling festival crosses 21 towns in Salento from Aug. 4 to 25, with 43 pizzica concerts, more than 400 artists and will lead up to the long night of the Concertone on Aug. 1 at 11:15 pm.

It starts at 9 p.m. with music by the Cultural Association Pietrevive del Salento - Workshop of Dramaturgy and Popular Music of Salento, which operates in Salento in the field of theatrical and musical activities and research and study on traditions and popular culture, established after the dissolution of the "Compagnia Popolare in re" which, for about 30 years, was present in the area with various works in prose and music written and directed by Tonino Papadia. Active courses in acting, tambourine and dance (Pizzica) that find the interest of many young people and several interventions are made in schools through the presentation of school projects on popular music and theater, traditions and local history. He recently released the CD Sole, which represents the epilogue of a vast concert activity carried out with the show "Colors of the Mediterranean." Currently, as a result of research done on songs and music, which go beyond pizzica and Salento, it has enriched its repertoire with new arrangements and especially with a new musical and narrative path with the show: When the sun danced the night. The components are: Tonino Papadia, narrator; Antonio Saracino, woodwinds; Antonella Rubino, singing; Angelo Gaglione, singing, drums and percussion; Francesco Longo, accordion; Vito Bellanova, double bass; Angelo Guarini, guitar and erhu; Daniele Errico, synth; Ofelia Corrado, dance.

The music continues with Le Sette Bocche, a band that shares the experience of folk music, with a completely personal interpretative key, very close to Nu Folk or, as Marcello Colasurdo defined them: "Etno Local." The group's musical project begins with ethnographic research on the origins of the culture of the area, in which each member expresses his or her own musical background, to give body to a show inspired by the music, songs and dances typical of popular culture. The group has performed at numerous events in Italy and abroad. After their recording debut in 2014 with the album "Simm' sett 'ott e nuje" followed, in 2018, the second Live CD encompassing the experiences of the grueling summer and winter tours: #sfravecatour. This year, the group presents a new show entitled "Jettatour," a true musical therapy aimed at warding off and banishing fears and ailments. The group consists of Angelo Plaitano, voice and guitar; Daniela Dentato, drum; Alfredo Marraffa, flutes; Domenico Ingenito, violin; Antonio Rizzo, electric bass; Pasquale Di Lascio, drums; and Francesca La Ragione, dance.

Next up is the turn of Mascarimirì, a group from the world music scene with a unique and original sound, the result of more than 20 years of "Tradinnovation." The idea of electro world music par excellence is created by Claudio "Cavallo" Giagnotti, a musician-producer from Salento with Roma origins, leader and founder of the band since 1998. The Mascarimiri project, born in a still non-touristic Salento, which has always been at the forefront of sound experimentation, stands for the union of tradition and innovation with a powerful and engaging sound, enriched by the sounds of the whole Mediterranean and gypsy area. Today the group's sound is mature, always innovative, strong in the deep knowledge of its roots, with unmistakable international identity. With twelve studio albums under their belt and first-rate concert activity, Mascarimirì has been rewriting tradition for more than 20 years. The group consists of: Claudio "Cavallo" Giagnotti, vocals, tamburieddhu, programming, ethnic winds; Alessandro Schito, vocals, tamburieddhu; Matteo Torsello, vocals, electric guitar; Gabriele Martino, vocals, electric mandolin; Kasia Kurdziel visual, production.

RACALE: BAD WEATHER STAGE FESTIVAL CANCELED

Due to adverse weather conditions, the planned August 13 stop in Racale is canceled and postponed to a date to be determined.

We thank the public and artists for their cooperation.

SAMUELE BERSANI GUEST CONCERTONE 25

Samuele Bersani will be a guest at the Notte della Taranta Concert scheduled for Aug. 27 in Melpignano (Le). The singer-songwriter of the masterpiece Giudizi Universali will enchant the Taranta audience by interpreting the symbolic song of the tradition: Lu ruciu de lu mare the poetic description of the Salento landscape between "padule" inhabited by "ranocchiule" and the buzz of the sea.
In his 30-year career, Bersani has written extraordinary songs that have moved audiences such as Replay, En and Xanax, Chicco and Spillo, Freak, a long journey of sound research that is constantly evolving and outside of any standardization scheme.
Master concertmaster Dardust in the long night of Melpignano will highlight Bersani's two artistic souls, that of continuous experimentation and the very recognizable one of lyrics poised between surreal imagery and poetry.
This is an unmissable opportunity to listen live to the plucked version of Chicco and Spillo by the 50-year-old singer-songwriter from Rimini, who at the age of 21 signed one of the masterpieces of writing in Italian discography, "Il Mostro," whose enchanting lyrics immediately won over Dalla, who decided to produce it. And Bersani arrives at the Notte della Taranta 16 years after the participation of his great friend Lucio Dalla, to whom he dedicated, 10 years after his death, a touching post on Instagram: "In the moments of greatest bewilderment your words always knew how to build immediate horizons and ports of comfort in which to land."
In 2021 with his latest album Cinema Bersani, the artist won his fifth Targa Tenco, after the one for "L'oroscopo speciale" awarded in 2000 also as Best Album, the double in 2004 for both Best Song with "Cattiva," and for Best Album with "Caramella Smog," and in 2015 for "La storie che non conosci," written and sung together with Gino Pacifico, judged Best Song of the Year.
But Samuele Bersani's artistic career is studded with awards, including two Mia Martini Critics' Awards ("Replay" and "Un pallone"), a Lunezia Award for Best Literary Lyrics for "Giudizi Universali," and the Amnesty Italy Award for the song "Occhiali Rotti" dedicated to reporter Enzo Baldoni.
A super cast for Concertone 2022 celebrating its first 25 years. After the announcement of international guest STROMAE, Italian singer-songwriter SAMUELE BERSANI is added and two more super guests from the Italian pop scene are expected.
In the rehearsal room set up in the Cinema Elio in Calimera, the Popular Orchestra continues its musical quest to enchant the audience of Melpignano, moving from traditional pizziches to the audience's most beloved ballads with an in-depth look at Pier Paolo Pasolini's Canzoniere Italiano and a tribute to Vito Nigro the cantor of Villa Castelli and Cordella's pizzica. The texts chosen by Dardust for the 25th edition will also be a dancing journey entrusted to choreographer Irma Di Paola.
Festival mobility is zero-emission thanks to the technical support of DMJ Gruppo De Mariani, which provided the electric cars.

On Aug. 14, the traveling festival "La Notte della Taranta," makes a stop in Lecce. Now in its 25th edition dedicated to the theme "The Tradition of the New," Italy's largest traveling festival crosses 21 towns in Salento from Aug. 4 to 25, with 43 pizzica concerts, more than 400 artists and will lead to the long night of the Concertone on Aug.

Curated by the Corpo di Ballo della Notte della Taranta at 7 p.m., the pizzica workshops return, unmissable appointments for fans of the Salento dance who gather in the squares of the Festival's host towns to participate in the great dancing patrol. Large inclusive and open circles are formed led by the Taranta dancers who accompany the audience to discover the rhythm of the tambourine and the different expressions of the pizzica: courtship pizzica, pizzica tarantata and pizzica fencing.

Lighting up the evening in Libertini Square in Lecce at 9 p.m. is Enzo Petrachi & Folk Band22. His career was born following in the footsteps of his father, Bruno, giving as he did, different and new flavors of the Salento tradition. Always close to the heart of the people who have long believed in him for his desire to turn the history of our country into musical notes with his unique style: a tale in music of the life and traditions of his land. To date he has produced 28 record works, Enzo is the author of many of his songs, as in the album "folk salentino." Many hit songs also used in soundtracks of famous movies including "fine pena mai," are sung all over the world. With his FOLK Band22 he is back on tour with Technical Rider. Enzo Petrachi will take the stage at the La Notte della Taranta Festival with: Mariachiara Ferrari, backing vocals; Gabriele Mazzotta, drums; Giuseppe Schirinzi, bass; Michele Russo, guitar; Salvatore Costantini, physa and keyboards; and Beniamino Capoccia, percussion.

A performance by Antonio Amato Ensemble will follow. The group was founded in 2000, and the original plan was for popular music to be juxtaposed with classical music in order to create a refined yet authentic blend. Over the years the project has been enriched with other points of view, expanding beyond the usual boundaries by thinking without "labels." Music as "communication," as a flow of sound thoughts, as trepidation with the introduction of odd rhythms, exotic echoes, contaminations, refined sound, unusual arrangements. Antonio Amato is an eclectic artist, frontman of the group that for the Festival Notte della Taranta 2022 welcomes two guests to the stage performing together with Fiorenza Calogero accompanied by one of the greatest exponents of the chitarra battente, Marcello Vitale. The versatility of her voice, sanguine approach to writing and stage expressiveness make Fiorenza Calogero one of the most profound interpreters of traditional Italian song. A vertical depth that pierces the native land - Naples and Campania - and sprouts in the opposite hemispheres, in the forests, among the spirits and peoples who inhabit them. The group consists of: Antonio Amato, vocals, guitar and tambourine; Antonio Marra, drums; Valerio Rizzello, keyboards and oboe; Nico Berardi, bagpipes, charango, woodwinds and guitar; Gianluigi Amato, vocals and tambourine; Roberto Gemma, synth and accordion; Giacomo Casciaro, mandola and mandoloncello; Mario Esposito, bass; Antonella Maggio, tambourine.

And at the Lecce stage of La Notte della Taranta there will also be the Libringiro. initiative, the traveling project for the enhancement of Apulian bibliodiversity carried out by APE-Associazione Pugliese Editori with the support of the Apulian Region, Institute of Mediterranean Cultures, Polo Biblio - Museale di Lecce, Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, Province of Lecce. It is fulfilled thanks to the ApeBiblioCamper, the vehicle branded with the project logo and equipped to become a mobile bookstore: it stops at places where major events are held, regional but also supra-regional, on the occasion of which the bookstore can also be set up with a selection of thematic volumes inherent to the content of the event (e.g., music, cinema, folklore, etc.) as well as of general interest, further enhancing the event itself to which it is flanked. It is thus also meant to be a literary offering for tourists and visitors.

LibrInGiro's ApeBiblioCamper continues to move these days in Salento, participating in some stages of the La Notte della Taranta Festival. Next events will be Aug. 14 in LECCE (Piazza Libertini), Thursday, Aug. 18 in GALATINA (Piazza Dante Alighieri) and Sunday, Aug. 21 in CALIMERA (market area).

For the audience of La Taranta, it can be an opportunity to learn more about the themes of Italy's largest festival and one of the most significant events on popular culture in Europe, through the selection of thematic volumes made available by APE's twenty-eight publishing houses. These are books on the history and popular and musical tradition of Apulia but, more generally, publishing productions unquestionably linked to the territory that precisely with LibrInGiro APE members want to showcase. With LibrInGiro Ape wants to show a new dynamism, aimed at the valorization of the intangible cultural heritage constituted, precisely, by Apulian publishing, understood both in terms of editorial "workers" and talented authors, already known or misunderstood, highlighting the exquisitely regional historical, anthropological and artistic specificities of the sector.

The ApeBiblioCamper will be stationed near the concert area.

The mobile bookstore will allow consultation, lending and purchase of volumes.

KALURYA

On Aug. 13, the traveling festival "La Notte della Taranta," makes a stop in Racale. 27 in Melpignano (Le), with the maestro concertatore DARDUST, in the midst of rehearsal activity these days at the Cinema di Calimera together with the Orchestra della Notte della Taranta.
The sound journey between memory and vision of Concertone 2022 will be broadcast on RAI 1, Thursday, Sept. 1 at 11:15 p.m.

The evening kicks off at 9 p.m. with a concert by Mimmo Epifani & Barbers, which was born as a reminiscent voice of tradition, a timeless soul that preserves its historical memories among the thousands of multicultural amnesias of our times. Music, songs, dances, having as their focus the plucked instruments of the "barbers" musically revisited in an ethnic key. The group's vision is that in a historical and social paradigm characterized by a profound crisis of values, massification and the baroque emphasis of culture increasingly devoid of identity, the idea of a concert is born that can, through the special and subliminal language of the "Arts," awaken consciences and collective memories from the hedonistic slumber and 'exasperating individualism of our society. The result of the concert a feast that involves, drags, moves in a real explosion of sounds, voices and rhythms. Components: Mimmo Epifani, vocals, mandolin, mandola; Sasà Flauto, vocals, guitars; Giuseppino Grassi, vocals, plectrum instruments; Francesco Santalucia, vocals, piano, percussion; Marilena Gragnaniello, reciting voice, frame drums, dance.

This will be followed by the music of the group KalurYa, which offers a repertoire consisting mainly of pizziche and tarantelle, the result of extravagant and exciting ethnomusicological investigations and refined contaminations with other popular and non-popular musical traditions. Their shows of the are an explosion of energy, passion, rhythm and magic, dragging on a journey from the past to the present on the incessant beat of Stefano De Monte's tambourine, the beating heart of the Salento tradition, on the interweaving and cascading notes of Gianni Faggiano's accordion. Mimmo Quarta's percussion rhythm, Gianluca Martina's bass groove, Luciano Micolani's lead guitar and Alessia Pellè's choreography complete the lineup.

DANCE REHEARSALS IN CASTRI' DI LECCE. HERE ARE THE 6 PROFESSIONALS JOINING THE DANCE TROUPE

Dance rehearsals for the Notte della Taranta dance troupe have begun in Castrì di Lecce. Taranto-based choreographer Irma Di Paola has been working with the dancers since August 7 to create 10 paintings on the pieces proposed by maestro Dardust that will be performed on August 27 at the concertone on the stage set up in front of the former Convento degli Agostiniani.

The Apulian choreographer, excited and honored by this assignment that strengthens even more the bond with her roots, promised, "past and present, tradition and innovation will come together to ignite the Wonder."

Dance rehearsals began a few days ago in Castrì di Lecce, in the Chassè Dance Center, with the 10 dancers of the Corps de Ballet of the Notte della Taranta, veterans of the extraordinary success recorded at the International Folk Dance Festival and the Mediterranean Games in Algeria: Mihaela Coluccia, Cristina Frassanito, Serena Pellegrino, Lucia Scarabino, Veronica Mele, Stefano Campagna, Andrea Caracuta, Marco Martano, Fabrizio Nigro and Mattia Politi. The Corps de Ballet has been spreading the "pizzica" for years on the stages of national and international tours with engaging choreography on the songs performed by the Popular Orchestra. Thanks to the Workshops, the dancers promote popular dance by spreading the "steps" to everyone who participates before concerts in pizzica stages.

In the rehearsal room and on the Concertone stage, the dancers will dance with six professionals: Serena Pomer, Vittoria Markov, Gabriele Riccio, Alessandro Covarelli, Gabriele Virgilio and Francesco Cariello, assistant to the choreographer.

Serena Pomer this year was chosen as the Backup Dancer for the Flag Handover ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics; Vittoria Markov was a dancer for the UAE Jubilee in the main stage of Expo 2020 in Dubai and the acrobat during the opening night Eurovision 2022; Gabriele Riccio, has studied with leading international choreographers Nick demura, Jun Quemado, Ian Eastwood and is the Founder of Rules Dance Studio school; Alessandro Covarelli, was recently a dancer in the official corps de ballet of Eurovision Song Contest 2022; and Gabriele Virgilio began his career working in Macau in China for Franco Dragone with choreography by Veronica Peparini and from there to follow as a professional for the corps de ballet of Amici, Sanremo, Italian's got Talent, The Voice, Big Brother.

The choreographer's assistant is Francesco Cariello from Salerno. Here he began his studies related to Latin American dances as a teenager, placing them side by side with those related to academic and Urban dances. He continued his studies in Rome, at the Ballet of Rome, perfecting himself in contemporary dance. He begins his artistic collaborations with several contemporary companies, he also interfaces as a dancer in numerous television programs. He collaborates for several artists on the music scene, including Renato Zero, Emma Marrone, Andrea Bocelli, Anna Tatangelo.

16 dancers led by Irma di Paola who will excite with ten paintings the audience that will arrive in Melpignano to attend the final Concertone directed by Dardust scheduled on August 27 and broadcast on Rai 1, September 1 at 11:15 pm.

ARIACORTE  MUSICA POPOLARE

On Aug. 12, the traveling festival "La Notte della Taranta," makes a stop in Alessano. 27 in Melpignano (Le), with the maestro concertmaster DARDUST, and will be broadcast on RAI 1, Thursday, Sept. 1 at 11:15 p.m.
Rehearsals are in full swing for the sound journey between memory and vision of the Concertone at the Cinema of Calimera with Dardust and the Notte della Taranta Orchestra.

The evening kicks off at 9 p.m. in Piazza Don Tonino Bello with the notes of the historic Salento folk music group Aria Corte, led by its founder Rocco Borlizzi, which returns to the stages by re-proposing "Damme La Manu" one of the most important "alla stisa" songs of the Salento folk repertoire. A classic of the band that today is revisited thanks to artistic collaborations with Vincenza de Rinaldis, Anna Maggio and Gianluca Milanese, who joyfully took part in the realization. A decades-long career of the group marked by the continuous search for an encounter with other experiences of music making: from classical - as in this case - to international ethnic music. Aria Corte will appear on stage at the La Notte della Taranta Festival with: Rocco Borlizzi Band Manger, voice and tambourine; Giacomo Casciaro: guitar, voice, winds, mandola; Sergio Pizza, drums; Angelo Surdo Accordion; Alberto Pezzuto, voice and violin; Gianluca Milanese, transverse flute; Anna Maggio, harp; Vincenza de Rinaldis (guest) voice.

The music continues with Uccio Aloisi Gruppu. Antonio Aloisi, better known as Uccio Aloisi (Cutrofiano, Oct. 1, 1928 - Cutrofiano, Oct. 21, 2010), born into a peasant family, together with Uccio Bandello and Uccio Melissano, founded the legendary group "Li Ucci," custodians of the folk tradition of "stornelli," songs of work and love often improvised to the rhythm of the tamburello. The rediscovery for popular music linked to the Taranta phenomenon led the group to perform outside regional borders in Italy and abroad. Uccio Aloisi was a singer of popular music, among the most charismatic, well-known and appreciated figures in the Salento musical tradition of pizzica; Aloisi was one of the regular guests of the Notte della Taranta and has trod the most important stages of popular music, collaborating with internationally renowned artists and Italian artists, including Buena Vista Social. Aloisi started his own group, the "Uccio Aloisi Gruppu," which continues the path of popular music with Antonio Calsolaro, Domenico Riso, Luigi Nuzzo, Pasquale Pizzolante, and Max Però.

Studio Murena is a project of the collective born in Milan in 2018 and composed of five musicians from the conservatory Amedeo Nan (electric guitar), Maurizio Gazzola (electric bass), Matteo Castiglioni (keyboards and synth), Marco Falcon (drums) and Giovanni Ferrazzi (electronics, sampler) who with their original sound will contribute to the realization of a very special version of the traditional Salento song Secuta Secuta. And if the Milanese band among its hits boasts "Harp and Drum," it is Kety Fusco's harp that will intervene on another traditional Aremu musical piece to scan the ancestral rhythm of Salento music by accompanying the powerful sound of tambourines with the refined, yet scratchy notes of her harp. These are of the first two guests of the Popular Orchestra La Notte della Taranta who will take the stage at the August 27 Melpignano concert, now in its 25th edition and directed this year by Dardust, who these days, is rehearsing with the Orchestra residing at the cinema in Calimera the repertoire of the highly anticipated concert, open again and free to the public, after two years of restrictions. The international guest will be Stromae, announced in recent days; instead, the event will be broadcast by Rai 1 on Sept. 1 at 11:15 p.m.

"A little Italian miracle," is how critics have called Studio Murena, a collective that was born in Milan in 2018 by five musicians from the conservatory: After releasing its first work, Crunchy Bites, the group immediately has the opportunity to perform on big stages such as Jazz MI, MusicalZOO and Jazz On The Road. Later, the idea moves towards darker sounds by including MC Carma in its lineup, who characterizes the project with rap verses of conscious and committed intention. Over the course of 2019 the group obtains numerous gratifications, materializing then the possibility of sharing important stages with artists of depth such as The Comet is Coming, , Davide Shorty & Funk ShuiProject and Inoki. Proudly representing all the realities included in his personal sound, the group last in the studio during the pandemic the work for the release of his new project, which, thanks to the collaboration with Costello's, begins an upward path full of satisfaction. The first signs come from Alessio Bertallot, who places the official singles "Password" and "Harp and Drum" within his program Casa Bertallot. Soon after is the turn of Ghemon, who includes "Harp and Drum" in his playlist on the New Scene created for Tidal. With the new singles "Marble," "Eclipse" and "Long John Silver," released between July and November 2020, the value of the collective is officially certified, which arrives at the presentation of the new album "Studio Murena" (Costello'sRecords, The Orchard) with no less than two tracks featured on Spotify's prestigious Global Jazz Rap playlist. THE band has already collaborated with Dardust, for a recording session at Officine Meccaniche in Milan under the guidance and supervision of Taketo Gohara for the artist's new record. Following this experience, in December 2022, the band closes the year with a DJ set for Tommy Hilfiger and Radio Raheem at People's Place in Milan.

From Pisa to Europe, Kety Fusco has taken the international avant-garde scene by storm, and under Caterina Caselli's Sugar Music label she released her first album DAZED in 2020 (with Universal distribution and production by Swiss Grand Prix of Music nominee Aris Bassetti), thanks to which she was nominated for three categories during the last Swiss Live Talents Awards in Bern (CH) and played her compositions in the hall of the Federal Parliament in Bern. KEty Fusco's music is a mix of perseverance and passion, electronic music sometimes to dance to on the one hand and organic research applied to experimentation and contemporary music on the other. Fusco also opened the Locarno Film Festival with an original transcription of the Swiss anthem. In the midst of the global pandemic, despite the interruption of live music, Kety Fusco was then called upon to perform a transcription of Ennio Morricone for the Heroes festival, performing at the Arena di Verona. Fusco reached one of the biggest milestones of her career in 2021, when she was invited by the United Nations to the SDG Global Festival of Action, virtually sharing the stage with Patti Smith and Ben Harper.
